If I try to connect the handbox to the computer without entering it into safe mode, the software will not recognize it at all. Oh, I have also now tried every baud rate availible in StarPatch but still get the same error "Udate failed (G)" #Unrespnonsive meade autostar reset update#UPDATE: If I use Autostar Suite to try and update the hand box (after it is in safe mode), when I try to connect the autostar suite it returns two errors: 1) Invalid Alignment Mode, and 2) Read Timeout Communications Terminated! Beyond this point the autostar updater will not detect the handbox on any com port though in my computer control panel it is still visible, and it will still be detected by StarPatch 1.6 as above with the same Update failed message. Of course since that is exactly how I got to where I am now, I'm not sure where to go from here. UPDATE: I got StarPatch 1.6 to detect the Autostar II, but, when the autostar is in safe mode, and I begin the update from StarPatch 1.6, almost immediately a message stating: "Update failed (G) - please try again" followed by instructions to restart the autostar controller in safe mode. it is plugged in correctly, but in safe mode is not getting to the point where it will connect with my pc, using either autostar updater, or StarGPS updater, neither of which will communicate with or recognize the hand box. Thank you in advance for your help.Īfter a little more messing around, it seems that my primary problem at this point is that My Autostar II is not being recognized by my computer on a com port. I would much prefer to be frustrated by atmosphereic conditions causing me to curse that Saturn won't stop wavering rather than to be frustrated by these technical issues. If anyone has any additional suggestions, please let me know. Safe mode on my unit seems to be not all that safe. I would like to believe that while the autostar is connected to my computer that it is infact downloading, as another post I read on this forum seemed to indicate, but after leaving the telescope and computer plugged in together all night last night, there was no change by morning. The computer will not recognize the autostar, and will not connect to the telescope with or without the autostar controller attached to the telescopt. However, this message is displayed whether the scope is connected to the computer or not, and it is most certainly not downloading any new software. This has effect as the hand box displays: "Downloading: Do not turn off power" I have followed instructions as to put the Autostar hand box in emergency recovery mode by pressing 9,9,9, when powering on. The computer seemed to be fine after the reboot. When the lights came back on the had box was completely unresponsive and would not proceed to initialization. #Unrespnonsive meade autostar reset Pc#Last night I was updating my Autostar II hand controller when I lost power to both the PC and my LX200GPS telescope. Ok, this has happened to others in this forum and others, but I'm not seeming to get things wrapped up, so I'm making this new post in hopes of getting a little more info.
